Today, we're excited to further that vision, mission and promise by announcing that Heap has agreed to become part of Contentsquare. We believe this complementary partnership will enable something transformative for every organization looking to understand and improve their digital experiences. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory clearances, and the companies will remain independent until those are complete and the transaction closes. 

What does this mean for Heap, our customers, and the teams working to build a world-class digital experience platform once this transaction closes?

An unprecedented view of the customer journey

Both Heap and Contentsquare are obsessed with helping our customers create great experiences for their end users. Removing friction from those customer journeys is a shared goal.

With Heap’s cross-device and cross-channel digital insights platform, we provide insights into the user's entire lifetime journey to understand key moments in the experience, including the features users engage, when and where in the journey they drop off or struggle. Contentsquare's Digital Experience Analytics delves deeper into individual user sessions to find and fix technical issues (such as errors or site performance) that may be causing friction or user behaviors that indicate frustration (rage clicks, for example) so you can better understand why users are struggling. 

On one hand, you have the complete user journey and the ability to identify key moments; on the other, a detailed view of what is working and what isn't in those moments. Having access to both approaches offers capabilities the world has never seen in a single integrated toolkit. Together, our complementary technologies will benefit our customers with an unprecedented 360-degree view of the entire customer journey, from acquisition to conversion to retention, along with detailed insights into each step of the journey.

A single platform for every business

Creating a world-class digital experience is challenging. Organizations may not have the data they need because it's costly to track, entirely unavailable, or takes too long to obtain. Customer journeys are complex and occur across devices, products, and channels. The insights many tools provide are often not actionable, or the tools themselves are hard to use or redundant. Even worse for the organization, different people on different teams are often looking at different data.

The expected integration of Heap and Contentsquare technology once the transaction closes is going to change that paradigm. Our vision is to create a complementary, all-in-one experience platform where cross-functional teams can rely on a single source of truth and a unified data strategy. For example:

  • Marketing teams can understand which channels or content drive conversion or create the highest value customers. 

  • Product teams can understand where users are getting stuck discovering, engaging with, and getting lasting value from features. 

  • Design teams can accelerate user research by watching session replays of frustrating user experiences.

  • Engineering teams can identify the highest value opportunities to fix errors and performance issues based on business impact (conversion or revenue, for example).

  • Data teams can combine behavioral data with other business data in a warehouse for downstream analysis and modeling.

Heap has built a strong foundation in North America serving B2B SaaS, healthcare, financial services, and e-commerce companies of every size. Contentsquare started in the EU and has built a major enterprise presence in the ecommerce, banking and financial services, and travel industries.
