Introducing Heap Rage Clicks: Transform Frustration into Actionable Insights

To see Rage Clicks in action, head over to our Demo Hub where Heap PM Emily Brodman walks through the feature.

We are thrilled to announce that Heap now offers the ability to track rage clicks. This feature will automatically identify and bring to light moments of frustration when a user clicks furiously on a webpage element or in an app. All teams can now easily find and measure frustrating experiences in their apps, then remove those frustrating experiences to create more intuitive user experiences.

Why Rage Clicks Matter

Heap will automatically surface rage clicks in your experience, which is when a user repeatedly taps or clicks on one part of your page in rapid succession.

Rage clicks are more than just a burst of user frustration, though. They're a loud and clear signal that something on your site or app isn't working as it should. Rage clicks can be your early warning sign of a new bug or regression (a button isn’t working!). They can also be a sign that users find your experience slow, confusing, or tedious.

Rage clicks are a red flag that you can't afford to ignore. Finding, quantifying, and improving these moments can help you build a better user experience.

Make Smart, Quick Fixes

For Product Managers and Engineers, Heap’s new feature is invaluable. Imagine releasing a new version of your website, but inadvertently disabling a critical payment button. With Rage Click Tracking, you don’t have to wait for customer complaints to find out that you’ve done this! The issue becomes instantly clear, allowing for quick fixes.

Designers and usability-focused Product Managers also stand to gain. Remember, not everyone who's confused will tell you about it. When you change a design, rage clicks show you where users are getting frustrated without them having to say a word. This helps you know what to fix first, making sure your redesign really solves problems for your users.

This feature is universally beneficial but especially crucial for businesses with revenue-generating funnels like eCommerce and Financial Services. Eliminating friction in these high-stakes areas can directly lead to increased revenue. Moreover, for designers or time-constrained product managers, rage click tracking provides an intuitive, straightforward way to identify problem areas, no data science degree required.

The Bottom Line

Heap’s new Rage Click feature delivers the next advancement in our commitment to delivering unique digital experience analytics. Rage Clicks seamlessly integrates with Heap’s analytics toolkit, allowing you to jump from a rage click signal to explore broader user behavior patterns with funnels, journeys, and session replay. It's not just about identifying problems—it's about unlocking a holistic understanding of your users' experiences, setting the stage for strategic enhancements and a stronger digital presence.

Heap’s Rage Click tracking doesn’t just reveal issues. It illuminates hidden insights, leading to quick and impactful solutions. Every detected rage click is an invitation to improve your digital experience, transforming user frustration into user satisfaction. Take the first step toward a more optimized user experience. Make Rage Click tracking a part of your digital toolkit today.
